About Nicolette

Nicolette is a visionary urban planner and policy maker with 20 years of experience in the public and private sector. She excels at creating partnerships that serve to improve the quality of life in communities through the creation of vision statements and implementable plans. Nicolette is a Senior Funding Consultant in the Urban and Community Resilience group at Arcadis. Prior to this, she worked in the private sector for various companies in New York City and upstate. She was also the Chemung County Planning Commissioner and Director of the Elmira-Chemung Transportation Council for three years where she worked to improve Elmira's neighborhoods, complete the city's form-based code to provide expanded development opportunities, and create new transportation and recreational resources. Nicolette has a BA in Political Science from Duke University and an MS in Urban Planning from Columbia University. She lives in Corning with her family and enjoys exploring neighborhoods, yoga, writing, and walking her dog.

At the Christopherson Center

Throughout her career, Nicolette has collaborated with many municipalities, companies and organizations on
dozens of planning and development strategies, helping to create consensus and draw investment into the
communities where she lives and works. She is grateful for the opportunity to work with the Christopherson
Center on initiatives to make upstate New York a more equitable and livable place.
