Major: Urban and Regional Studies

2022-2023 Academic Year

About Emile:

Having lived in many different contexts throughout my life, from Western Massachusetts to suburban Michigan, to New York City, I came to Cornell understanding the importance of the built environment. Too often, decisions around the built environment compromise human health and the natural environment with outsize consequences for the most marginalized communities. Throughout my time at Cornell, I have become especially interested in how decision-making can become more equitable, democratic, and proactive by developing robust social infrastructure. I also love to draw, learn languages, spend time in nature, and bike up Ithaca's many hills.

At the Christopherson Center:

I look forward to furthering the Christopherson Center's work of expanding regional networks between policy actors to promote climate resilience and sustainability in Upstate New York.
