Master's of Regional Planning
Katie is a first year Master's of Regional Planning student with a concentration in Land Use and Environmental Planning. She is interested in waste reduction, building science, biophilic cities, and improving access to sustainability strategies. Growing up on suburban Long Island, Katie saw firsthand how the built environment impacts both the climate and people's everyday lives. She continued studying this topic at Boston University, where she received a B.A. in Sociology with a minor in Urban Studies. After college, Katie completed an 11-month fellowship with the nonprofit Center for Ecotechnology. There, she worked on projects related to deconstruction, energy efficiency, and waste reduction for homeowners, contractors, and small businesses.
