Meet the 2025 Recognized Sites

Across Central New York, these are places where community members are transforming public spaces into meaningful hubs of resilience, memory, and connection. As part of the 2025 Chusid Symposium on Place, we recognize eight sites that reflect the themes of climate adaptation, cultural heritage, economic development, and equity.

Each project represents a unique story of collaboration, creativity, and care for community. Explore the featured sites below to learn how people across the region are making and keeping place.
