The Chusid Symposium on Place is an annual in-person gathering that celebrates sites across New York State where diverse voices engage with economic development, heritage, climate resiliency, and equity to recognize

and build place and community. The Symposium honors Jeffrey Chusid, associate professor, Cornell University, and Christopherson Center founding advisory board member, whose career has championed the preservation and transformation of meaningful places.

Hosted by the Christopherson Center, the 2026 Symposium spotlights sites in Allegany, Cattaraugus and Chautauqua counties. All are welcome. Attendance is by confirmed registration.
